Itanagar, June 4 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has nominated senior party leader Tai Tagak as its candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha election from Arunachal Pradesh.
The election to the Council of States is being held to fill the seat currently represented by Rajya Sabha member Nabam Rebia, whose term is scheduled to end on June 23.
The announcement was welcomed by senior BJP leader and Chief Minister Pema Khandu, who congratulated Tagak on being chosen as the BJP nominee and described the nomination as recognition of his decades-long commitment to the party and its ideology.
