Bengaluru, Jan. 28 -- BJP leaders on Wednesday demanded the resignation of Karnataka Excise Minister Ramappa B Timmapur, calling for a full investigation into an alleged excise scam worth over Rs 6,000 crore.
Citing "solid proofs" of irregularities in Timmapur's department, BJP leader Arvind Bellad accused the Congress of a 'double standard,' noting that the party has often sought resignations in far less serious cases.
"Even in the smallest of incidents, Congress has demanded the resignation of various people. In this case, there are many solid proofs, and Mr Timmapur has to resign," he told reporters.
