Hubballi, June 21 -- The internal probe into alleged cross-voting in the Karnataka Legislative Council elections has deepened political unease within the BJP, with union Minister Pralhad Joshi stepping in to caution party leaders against dragging the name of the revered Dharmasthala into the controversy.

The issue, which has already triggered sharp divisions within the BJP and JD(S), centres on reports of cross-voting that have raised questions about internal discipline and loyalty. In response, sections within the party had reportedly floated the idea of taking a symbolic oath at Dharmasthala to identify those responsible, a move that quickly sparked objections from senior leaders.
