Thiruvananthapuram, Feb. 9 -- BJP councillor and former DGP R. Sreelekha (Rtd IPS) on Monday clarified that her absence from the Delhi visit undertaken by party councillors at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was due to practical and financial considerations, and not as a mark of protest or dissent.

In a detailed clarification shared on social media, Sreelekha said that undertaking a five-day train journey at her age (65) was physically difficult.

Though an option to travel by flight was later suggested, she decided against it, stating that she did not wish to cause additional financial burden to the party.
