Bhandara, June 26 -- : A court in Maharashtra's Bhandara district convicted two BJP corporators in the 2016 assault case involving former Congress MLA Gopaldas Agrawal, sentencing them to five years' rigorous imprisonment and imposing a fine of Rs 50,000 each.
District Judge-I and Additional Sessions Judge A.S. Pratinidhi on Thursday convicted BJP corporators Shivkumar Sharma and Rahul Hemraj Shrivas, while acquitting the four other accused for lack of evidence.
The case pertains to an incident on April 9, 2016, when Agrawal was addressing a Congress press conference at Hotel Grand Sita in Kudwa.
