Thiruvananthapuram, April 6 -- An awkward moment disrupted a high-profile NDA election campaign event in the Kerala capital on Monday when Vattiyoorkavu candidate R Sreelekha walked off the stage, protesting the omission of her name during the speech of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.

The incident unfolded at a campaign programme in the Vattiyoorkavu Assembly constituency, where Jaishankar was addressing party workers and supporters. In his speech, he referred to Rajeev Chandrasekhar, BJP state president and NDA candidate from Nemom, but failed to mention Sreelekha, the NDA's own candidate in the constituency hosting the event.
