Kolkata, March 19 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday released its second list of 111 candidates for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections, following its earlier announcement of 144 nominees in the first phase. Former Trinamool Congress leader Tapas Roy, actor-turned politicians Roopa Ganguly and Hiran Chatterjee figure in the latest list.

With this, the party has now declared candidates for a total of 255 seats, leaving 39 constituencies yet to be announced.

Continuing its strategy of introducing prominent faces and surprise picks, the BJP fielded several notable candidates in key constituencies.

Former Trinamool Congress leader Tapas Roy, who recently joined the BJP, has been nominated from Maniktala.
