Bengaluru, June 29 -- Alleging that Waqf-related entries are being extended to nearly three lakh land records across Karnataka, the BJP on Monday demanded an immediate halt to the exercise, claiming it poses a serious threat to farmers' ownership rights and livelihoods.
Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly R Ashoka said reports of Waqf being entered in Column 11 of the Record of Rights, Tenancy and Crops (RTC) documents had created widespread concern among farmers, describing the issue as one involving not merely record alterations but the ownership and future of agricultural land.
