Bengaluru, July 29 -- Karnataka BJP on Wednesday stepped up its attack on the Karnataka government over the drought situation, alleging official apathy after a team of its senior leaders visited drought-hit Sasalapura village in Kanakapura taluk and reported widespread crop damage, drying borewells and an acute water shortage.
The delegation, led by Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, conducted an on-the-spot assessment of drought conditions and held interactions with affected farmers, who described mounting losses due to prolonged dry weather and the depletion of groundwater.
