Ranchi, July 27 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday alleged that the Jharkhand government was shielding senior officials in the alleged treasury scam and questioned the role of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in the investigation.
BJP chief spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo claimed that Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore had acknowledged that government funds amounting to about Rs 10,000 crore could not be accounted for. He alleged that the government was protecting senior officials while action had been limited to lower-level functionaries.
