Hyderabad, June 7 -- Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Sunday accused the Congress government of forcibly acquiring farmers' lands for the proposed fruit market project at Koheda without providing proper compensation.
Addressing a media conference at the BJP state office here, Ramchander Rao alleged that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for the project on 239 acres in Survey No. 167/1 despite strong opposition from local farmers.
He claimed that a fruit market already exists in the area and questioned the need to acquire additional agricultural land. "The government has committed grave injustice against farmers by trying to seize their lands without paying compensation," he alleged.
