Mumbai, March 31 -- Maharashtra BJP chief spokesperson Navnath Ban on Tuesday allayed fears expressed by some opposition leaders that the controversial godman Ashok Kharat could become a victim of foul play in custody to prevent him from implicating some ministers, legislators and highly placed officials.
Criticizing Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut for his remark "everyone is exposed in the bathhouse" in the Ashok Kharat case, Ban said at a media conference that it was due to the support of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government and then Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray-who provided water supply and patronage to Kharat's ashram-that the godman thrived.
