Mandi, Oct. 28 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a scathing attack on the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led Congress government in Himachal Pradesh, accusing it of deceiving the public and halting development by withholding payments to contractors.
BJP State Chief Spokesperson Rakesh Jamwal said the Chief Minister's claims of clearing all contractor payments before Diwali were "a blatant lie." He alleged that contractors across the state have stopped work due to non-payment, leaving several projects incomplete.
"The government's financial condition is bankrupt. The treasury is closed, bills are pending and departments are unable to make any payments," he charged.
