New Delhi, Aug. 1 -- A political confrontation erupted over the Centre's E20 ethanol-blended fuel policy on Saturday, with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal attacking the government's rollout of E20, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accused him of spreading misinformation and ignoring the policy's economic and environmental benefits.
Addressing AAP's 'National Town Hall Against E20' at the Constitution Club, Kejriwal demanded that petrol pumps offer consumers a choice between pure petrol and E20, that E20 be sold at a lower price than pure petrol, and that petrol prices be reduced to below Rs 84 per litre.
