BJD to raise MMDR Amendment, textbook errors, farmers' issues in Assembly: Naveen

Bhubaneswar, Sept. 21 -- BJD president Naveen Patnaik on Monday targeted the BJP government over the MMDR Amendment, textbook errors and farmers' problems, saying these would be among his party's key issues in the Odisha Assembly monsoon session beginning Tuesday.

Addressing the BJD Legislature Party meeting ahead of the session, Patnaik alleged that the government had failed on issues ranging from law and order and flood management to price rise, fiscal management and budget expenditure.

He said the MMDR Amendment Act, passed by Parliament "in haste" and without discussion, would undermine Odisha's rights over its mineral resources.

Patnaik criticised the state government and BJP MPs from Odisha for their stand on the legislation.
