Bhubaneswar, July 28 -- The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Tuesday described the grand welcome accorded to former union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan during his visit to Bhubaneswar as an attempt to divert public attention from his alleged failures while in office.
Addressing a press conference, BJD spokesperson Lenin Mohanty alleged that the elaborate reception organised by Pradhan's supporters was aimed at protecting his public image following his recent resignation as union Education Minister.
Mohanty claimed that Pradhan was forced to resign after the nationwide student agitation over the alleged NEET examination question paper leak gained widespread support.
