Bhubaneswar, Aug. 30 -- The Opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Sunday challenged BJP state president Manmohan Samal to explain his support for the MMDR Act-2026 and tell the people of Odisha how the legislation would protect the State's interests.
Sharply reacting to Samal's recent remarks, BJD spokesperson and media coordinator Lenin Mohanty alleged that the new law would cause a major financial setback to the State.
He claimed Odisha stood to lose over Rs 1 lakh crore in pending dues and around Rs 12,000 crore every year following implementation of the legislation.
"Samal must tell the people of Odisha how the State will benefit from this law," Mohanty said, challenging the BJP leader to publicly counter the BJD's figures with facts....
