Bhubaneswar, July 25 -- The Opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Saturday alleged that four devotees died in separate stampede incidents during the Rath Yatra and Bahuda Yatra in Puri and demanded a judicial inquiry into all the deaths, with the findings made public.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here, BJD Vice-President and former Minister Sanjay Das Burma, former MLA and Puri district president Umakanta Samantaray, and former Minister and MLA Tusharkanti Behera accused the Odisha government of failing to ensure proper crowd management during the world-famous Rath Yatra.
