Bhubaneswar, April 21 -- The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Tuesday strongly criticised the Odisha government over the alleged rape of a six-year-old girl in the Brahmagiri area, demanding the immediate arrest of the accused.
Reacting to media reports, BJD Vice President and former Minister Sanjay Kumar Dasburma expressed deep concern over the incident, stating that the safety of women and children in the state has become increasingly alarming.
He alleged that the law and order situation, particularly concerning the protection of vulnerable sections, is deteriorating steadily. Despite repeated concerns raised by the BJD and other opposition parties, the government has failed to take concrete and effective measures, he said.
