Bhubaneswar, June 17 -- : The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Wednesday expressed serious concern over the reported reduction in Central grants to Odisha under the recommendations of the Sixteenth Finance Commission and urged Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to take up the matter with the union Government strongly.

Addressing a press conference at the party office here, former Minister and BJD MLA Arun Kumar Sahoo said the BJP had promised before coming to power that it would increase Central assistance and help transform Odisha into the number one state in the country.
