Bhubaneswar, April 22 -- With rape of a 6-year-old girl in Brahmagiri area of Odisha's Puri district triggering outrage, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Tuesday lashed out at the state government, alleging that the safety of women and children in the state has become a cause of concern.
Biju Janata Dal Vice President and former Minister Sanjay Kumar Dasburma reacting to the unsavory incident expressed deep concern over the incident.
The safety of women and children in the state is fast deteriorating day by day. Although the BJD and other opposition parties have been raising their voices on this issue, the government has not been able to take any concrete action, Dasburma told reporters here today.
