Bhubaneswar, Aug. 10 -- The Opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Monday demanded that the Odisha government immediately initiate CAG audits of all four Tata Power-owned electricity distribution companies operating in the state, alleging financial irregularities and lack of transparency in their functioning.
Addressing a press conference at the BJD headquarters here, former Minister and BJD MLA Arun Sahu said the Delhi High Court had directed in May that the distribution companies should undergo CAG audits instead of relying solely on their internal audits.
Sahu said the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) had also advised the state government on March 24 to take steps to conduct CAG audits of all four distribution companies. Ho...
