Bhubaneswar, March 17 -- The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has strongly condemned the actions of some of its MLAs who allegedly ignored the directions of party supremo and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik and engaged in cross-voting during the Rajya Sabha elections in Odisha.

Addressing reporters here, former Speaker and Chief Whip of the Opposition Pramila Mallik, along with party MLAs Byomkesh Ray and Dhruva Charan Sahu, sharply criticized the MLAs who allegedly went against the party's ideology and principles.

They accused certain legislators of accepting large sums of money and cross-voting to help a "tainted leader" win the election.

The leaders emphasized that the BJD was founded on the ideals and principles of Biju Patnaik.
