Bhubaneswar, May 20 -- The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on the Odisha government over the alleged deterioration in the state's law and order situation, claiming that rising criminal activities and a demoralised police force have created fear among the public.

The opposition party said the recent daylight attack by criminals in Berhampur had brought "shame" to Odisha and exposed what it termed as a complete collapse of the law and order machinery.
