Bhubaneswar, Aug. 25 -- The Opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the BJP over the MMDR Amendment Act, alleging that the legislation had compromised Odisha's economic interests and taken away the state's financial autonomy.
Addressing a press conference at the party office here, BJD senior general secretary and MLA Gautam Buddha Das and party spokesperson Lenin Mohanty alleged that the MMDR Amendment Act was against the interests of Odisha and described the day of its passage as a "black day" for the state.
Das alleged that the BJP's top leadership had hatched a "conspiracy" through the amendment to undermine Odisha's interests and benefit industrialists.
