Patna, Aug. 19 -- The Bihar government has decided to establish dedicated District Anti-Riot Forces (DARF) in all districts to deal with riots, violent protests, communal tension and other serious law-and-order situations, according to an order issued by the state police headquarters.
Sources at the state headquarters said here on Wednesday that a total of 49 companies of anti-riot forces will be constituted across the state and equipped with 294 vehicles. The specialised units will be deployed at the district and subdivision levels to handle situations including violent demonstrations, road blockades, attacks on government property and crowd-control operations.
