Patna, Nov. 6 -- In an extraordinary act of compassion amid profound grief, the family of 16-year-old Monu Kumar, who was declared brain dead following a road accident, has given three critically ill patients a new lease of life by donating his liver and both kidneys.
Monu, a resident of Patna, had sustained serious injuries in a road accident and was undergoing treatment at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Patna, where doctors subsequently declared him brain dead. Even as the family struggled to come to terms with the devastating loss, they made the courageous decision to donate his organs, turning an irreparable personal tragedy into a source of hope for others.
