Patna, June 14 -- Bihar has emerged as one of the country's fastest-improving states on key social and economic indicators, registering remarkable progress in human development, poverty alleviation, healthcare, nutrition, education and basic services over the past two decades.
Official data indicate that the state has recorded significant gains across almost all major development parameters, strengthening its position as a model of inclusive and sustainable growth.
According to the Human Development Index (HDI), Bihar's HDI rose from 0.485 in 2006 to 0.614 in 2023, reflecting a growth of nearly 27 per cent, higher than the national average increase of 23 per cent during the same period.
