Patna, May 3 -- In a swift and forceful response to a series of high-profile crimes, Bihar Police on Sunday escalated their crackdown, killing the main accused in the sensational Siwan murder case, Sonu Yadav, in an early morning encounter.
Earlier in the same case, another accused, Chhotu Yadav, was injured in a police encounter, sustaining a gunshot wound to his leg, after which he was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
On April 29, BJP leader Manoj Kumar Singh's nephew Harsh Singh and brother-in-law Chandan Singh were shot following a road rage altercation. Harsh Singh died in the incident, while Chandan Singh was seriously injured.
Police intensified their probe using CCTV footage and intelligence inputs.
