Patna, May 24 -- With plans to restart closed mills and establish 25 new sugar factories across the state, the Bihar government has drawn up an extensive roadmap to revive the sugar industry and strengthen the cane-based economy under its 'Saat Nischay-3' programme.

Official sources said here today that under the "Prosperous Industry Empowered Bihar" campaign, the state is focusing on reopening defunct sugar mills while simultaneously pushing for fresh investments in new units. The initiative aims to boost industrial activity, enhance farmers' income, and generate employment opportunities, particularly in rural areas.
