Patna, May 21 -- Bihar Social Welfare Minister Shweta Gupta on Thursday directed officials to ensure effective implementation of departmental schemes and prioritise the welfare of persons with disabilities.
While reviewing the functioning of the Social Welfare Directorate, State Child Protection Society, and Directorate of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, the minister emphasised that benefits of all schemes must reach eligible beneficiaries in a transparent and time-bound manner.
She instructed officials to promote awareness about adoption and strengthen outreach efforts. The minister also called for further strengthening of the aftercare scheme to help integrate children into the mainstream.
