Patna, July 21 -- Bihar Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari announced in the State Assembly on Tuesday that digital education will be introduced in all government schools by August 15. As part of this mission, computers lying unused in schools will be made operational.

Replying to a question raised by LJP (Ram Vilas) MLA Raju Tiwari, the minister said that computers had been installed in schools during 2012-13 under a project implemented by the Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (BSEIDC). He acknowledged that the ambitious initiative failed to achieve its objectives due to shortcomings in implementation, leaving computers in most schools non-functional.
