Patna, Feb. 26 -- With a total of Rs 4,884.86 crore revenue outstanding on March 31, 2023, of which Rs 1,430.32 crore pending for over five years, the Bihar government is facing serious challenges in revenue collection.

This has been revealed in the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) for the period ended March 2023 which was tabled by the finance minister Vijendra Yadav in the state assembly on Thursday.

The report said that arrears of revenue under the principal heads stood at Rs 4,884.86 crore. Of this amount, Rs 1,430.32 crore has been pending for more than five years, indicating delays in recovery of outstanding dues.
