Patna, April 23 -- Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary on Thursday asserted that prohibition will not be lifted in the state, reiterating that the existing law will be enforced strictly.
In his first media interaction after assuming the office of Deputy Chief Minister, Chaudhary dismissed demands from some NDA leaders, including JD(U) MLA Anant Singh, RLM MLA Madhav Anand and union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, to repeal or review the prohibition law, describing their views as "personal opinions" with no bearing on government policy.
