Patna, July 22 -- Bihar Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha today said in the assembly that the state government is fully aware of the health risks posed by agricultural produce grown using contaminated water and the excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, and has initiated a series of measures to address the issue and promote safer farming practices.

Replying to a Call Attention of RJD MLA Kumar Sarvjit during the pre lunch sitting of the lower house, Sinha acknowledged that fruits and vegetables grown with polluted drain water in urban areas are contributing to serious health problems.
