Patna, May 14 -- Bihar Governor Syed Ata Hasnain has joined the nationwide campaign to reduce petrol and diesel consumption by directing a significant cut in the number of vehicles in his official convoy.

According to instructions issued by the Governor, his convoy will now comprise only three vehicles, a move aimed at promoting fuel conservation amid rising global oil concerns.

The decision comes in the backdrop of the ongoing crisis in West Asia and an appeal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging citizens to minimise the use of petrol and diesel-powered vehicles and adopt fuel-saving measures.
