Patna, Sept. 12 -- The flood situation in Bihar remained grim on Saturday, with 47.92 lakh people in15 districts affected, even as relief and rescue operations continued on a war footing.

Official sources said that the affected districts are Patna, Bhojpur, Saran, Vaishali, Bhagalpur, Begusarai, Buxar, Samastipur, Munger, Katihar, Lakhisarai, Khagaria, Purnea, Madhepura and Arwal.

Sheltered in 13 relief camps, the affected people are being provided meals through 1,245 community kitchens. As part of relief measures, around 3.50 lakh polythene sheets, 57,100 dry ration packets, 1,400 food packets and 11,204 quintals of cattle feed have been distributed so far.
