Bettiah, Aug. 28 -- Flood preparedness in West Champaran has been intensified in view of the rising water level of the Narayani River following a Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) in Nepal and the possibility of a rise in the Gandak River.

A high-level review meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Disaster Management Minister Ratnesh Sada. The meeting reviewed preparations for dealing with possible flooding, including vulnerable areas, embankment safety and relief and rescue operations.
