Patna, June 14 -- Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram Sunday launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, alleging that its failures over the past 12 years have pushed the country into economic distress, rising unemployment and growing social challenges.

Ram told news persons here that despite the government''s description of the current period as "Amrit Kaal," ordinary citizens, students, youth, farmers and women were facing severe hardships.

He alleged that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country had fallen behind on several key development indicators and accused the BJP of attempting to mislead the public by highlighting selective achievements.
