Patna, July 5 -- Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Sunday expressed grief over the death of renowned Pandavani singer and Padma Vibhushan awardee Teejan Bai, calling her passing an "irreparable loss" to Indian folk art and culture.
Teejan Bai died on Sunday at the age of 70 after a prolonged illness.
In a post on social media platform X, Choudhary said Teejan Bai had given Indian folk culture a distinct global identity through her "unparalleled artistry, powerful voice and lifelong dedication.""Her invaluable contribution to our cultural heritage will always be remembered and will continue to inspire generations to come," he said.
