Patna, May 8 -- Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Friday directed the authorities to provide an ex-gratia grant of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of people who lost their lives in incidents caused by lightning, thunderstorms and heavy rainfall across Bihar.
The Chief Minister expressed deep sorrow over the deaths reported from several districts, including Bhojpur, Patna, Samastipur, East Champaran and Vaishali, due to lightning strikes, storms and intense rain. According to the official statement, one death each was reported from Bhojpur, Samastipur, East Champaran, Patna and Vaishali district.
