Bhagalpur, July 15 -- Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday inaugurated 211 newly constructed government degree colleges across the state, marking one of the largest expansions of higher education infrastructure in Bihar.

He also announced the transfer of around 220 acres of land for the proposed Vikramshila Central University, paving the way for the institution's establishment.

Launching the initiative virtually after inaugurating the newly built Government Degree College at Koshal village in Goradih block of Bhagalpur district, the Chief Minister said the move fulfils the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to expand access to higher education.
