Patna, June 3 -- The Bihar Cabinet on Wednesday approved a major expansion of the Chief Minister''s Medical Assistance Scheme by raising the annual income eligibility limit from Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 4 lakh, enabling a larger number of residents to avail financial support for medical treatment.

After the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Additional Chief Secretary of the Cabinet Secretariat Arvind Kumar Chaudhary told news persons here that the Cabinet approved 13 proposals, including the enhancement of the income ceiling under the health assistance scheme.
