Patna, July 1 -- The Bihar Cabinet today gave the go-ahead to the proposal for organising a two-day Somnath Yatra for devotees and sanctioned Rs 2.50 crore to be incurred on the yatra.

The cabinet during the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary cleared the proposal according to which nearly 1,100 devotees would leave on a two-day Somnath Yatra as part of the "Somnath Swabhiman Parv 1,000 Years of Unbroken Faith" celebrations.

The approved amount will cover to and fro travel, logistics and all related arrangements.

The Cabinet also approved the separation of 1.90 acres of land housing the Vaman Bhagwan Temple from the premises of the Central Jail in Buxar.
