Patna, Aug. 20 -- The Bihar government on Thursday approved the implementation of the Bihar State Crop Assistance Scheme for the Kharif 2026 season, with farmers eligible to submit online applications free of cost till October 31.

Official sources said here that all procedures under the scheme will continue to be conducted online. The scheme is being fully funded by the state government and covers Kharif crops including Aghani paddy, Bhadai maize, soybean, Aghani potato, brinjal, tomato and cauliflower, besides makhana.

The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to farmers in the event of crop losses caused by adverse weather conditions or other factors. Farmers are not required to pay any premium to avail themselves of the scheme. ...
