Patna, March 27 -- The Bihar government has significantly stepped up efforts to improve rural connectivity under its rural road strengthening campaign, with administrative approval granted for 18,019 rural roads across the state.
Official sources said here on Friday that the initiative being implemented by the Rural Works Department Bihar, aims to ensure smooth and safe transportation in rural areas.
Alongside upgrading dilapidated and old roads, the department is also focusing on long-term maintenance, strengthening and effective management of existing rural road infrastructure.
The sources said that under this programme, a total target length of 30,843 kilometres has been identified for strengthening.
