Bhagalpur, Oct. 14 -- In the wake of a major boat accident in Vaishali district, the local authorities intensified surveillance to prevent illegal boat operations on the Ganga River across Bhagalpur district in Bihar.
Bhagalpur District Magistrate Alankrita Pandey said here on Wednesday that the operation of unauthorised boats, both large and small, has been prohibited in the district since flooding began in the Ganga. Following the major boat accident in Vaishali district Tuesday night, vigilance has been further strengthened in several areas.
