Bhagalpur, March 3 -- An FIR has been registered against former Gopalpur MLA Gopal Mandal for allegedly displaying a firearm at a public place in Bhagalpur district.
Senior Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar Yadav said here today that a video surfaced on social media showing the former legislator roaming with a pistol during Holika Dahan celebrations late last night under the jurisdiction of Barari police station.
The SSP said that a preliminary inquiry into the viral video suggested that the former MLA had publicly displayed a firearm. Considering the seriousness of the matter, an FIR (first information report) has been lodged against him at Barari police station under relevant sections of law.
