Patna, June 3 -- : A special court constituted to hear cases of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) sentenced six people to rigorous imprisonment of up to seven years here today.

The Special Court judge, Vipin Kumar, also fined the convicts up to Rs 2 lakh each for trading in counterfeit currency.

The court convicted the six accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

The court sentenced the accused Zaheer Abbas and Uday Kumar to seven years' rigorous imprisonment and fines of Rs 2 lakh each.
