Patna, April 30 -- : In a major step aimed at reviving the sugar industry and supporting cane growers, the Bihar government has initiated measures to ease the financial burden on sugar mills in the state.

Additional Chief Secretary K. Senthil Kumar said here today that the Sugarcane Industry Department has slashed the commission of the Regional Development Council (JDC) by 90 percent. The move is expected to provide financial relief to sugar mills while also safeguarding farmers' interests.
